Lindsey enjoys working with people of all ages and phases of life. When working with children she prefers to make sessions as fun as possible so the child enjoys coming to her office and interacting with her while learning to identify their emotions, improve their coping skills, how to manage big feelings and how to safely express themselves. For some children Lindsey finds that using Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is the most effective form of treatment to heal the family bond and get the child’s behaviors back on track.
Through working with adolescents Lindsey has learned that taking the time to listen to their experiences is the first step in building a strong therapeutic bond that will allow that teen to explore their strengths and what they want to continue to work on. Lindsey enjoys taking a strengths based approach with teenagers which includes learning what they are already doing well and increasing those strategies to overcome what has been troubling them. When working with adults Lindsey has found that every individual needs a personalized approach to attain their goals. She finds that starting with a strong foundation of a non-judgemental atmosphere and warm connection allows everyone to feel safe to explore their struggles and find healthy solutions. Lindsey has specialized training in Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) which assists in reprocessing traumatic memories. This approach can be used for all ages and can be helpful for reducing many symptoms including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress and attachment wounds. Lindsey specializes in anxiety, depression, trauma and related disorders, as well as relationship issues. She has experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and places high value on inclusivity. |
